Some Cells
have flagella and Cilla, which are cellular appendages that extend from plasma membrane Flagella Cilia → long tail-like projections of PM have a whip-like motion are less numerous than cilia Cilia • Short hair-like projections of pm • have a brush-like motion •are numerous flagella can be found on stationary cells. made from complex proteins Both are composed of microtubules arranged in 9+2 Configurations The cell wall is a thick, rigid, mesh of fibers that surrounds The outside of the plasma membrane, protects the cell, and gives it support. It allows plants to stand at various heights, and it's made of cellulose. Prokaryotic cells also have a cell wall but its different. They are not made of cellulose. Instead, they're made of a material called peptidoglycan. A prokaryotic cell wall protects the cell, helps maintain the cell's shape, and gives the cell support.
