Plasma is a straw coloured, viscous fluid forming matrin of the blood Matric is the ground substance of a tissue or a non-living substance occupying the space between cells. Plasma without the clotting proteins (fibrinogens) is called serum. Plasma T Water Proteins Minerals Nutrients I Water: 90-927. of plasma is constituted by water. II. Proteins: Proteins constitute 6-8% of plasma They are of 3 types: Elbrinogen H is an important clotting factor produced. by the liver Globuline: They are primarily involved in the defense mechanisms of the body. They are of 3 types. X-globulins, B-globulins and 8-globulins. Gamma Globulins are antibodies functioning in immune respons x and B-Globulins help to transport lipids & fat soluble vitamins Albuming: They help to maintain osmotic balance. This is needed to maintain blood volume and blood pressure. Plasma carries minerals like catt, Nat, Mg2+, etc and nutrients like glucose, amino acids and lipids.
