ROLEPLAY 4.3 | ENGLISH | QUARTER 04 2023 ● The word role play come fromthe french word “Role” whichmeans “part played by aperson in life” ● Role play is any speakingactivity when you either putyourself into someone else’sshoes, or when you stay in yourown shoes but put yourself intoimaginary situations. IMAGINARY PEOPLE The joy at role-play is that studentscan become anyone they like for ashort period of time. IMAGINARY SITUATION A multitude of scenarios in real life canbe activated through Role-play. ROLE PLAY’S SIGNIFICANCE ● Role play helps students develop their skills and abilities. ● It is widely agreed that learningtakes place when activities areengaging and memorable. ● Makes sense in real-life situations. ● Allows student to explore,investigate, and experiment ● Develop the student's to socialskills, as they collaborate withothers. Learn to empathize withothers, taking on the role of acharacter which helps them to learn and understand differentperspectives. TIPS ON SUCCESSFUL CLASSROOM ROLEPLAY 1) The roles of the teachers, facilitators, spectator, audience. The teacher watchesthe roleplay and offerscomments and adviceduring the practice andevaluates after the performance. 2) Bring situations to life- Props and Costumescan really bring a RolePlay to life. 3) Keep it real and relevant- The Role PlayPerformance must berealistic and attainable. 4) Feed-in Language and Error Correction- Theteachers will serve as aguide to teach studentshow to properly executedifficult lines and pronounce a correctword or phrase. 5) Use your imagination and have fun- Enjoy the Reviewer by: Khasandra Chloe S.
