Accessing Deep Web Accessing Deep Web This guide was contributed by a freelance writer in Australia. What is Deep Web? – 1.0 Deep web (often referred to as the Invisible Web or Darknet ) is by textbook definition, a collection of World Wide Web content which are not indexed by conventional search engines such as Google and Bing. In simpler terms, it basically means sites which cannot be accessed from everyday-use search engines. Deep Web content is not limited to sites but can also include files and documents types or sites which do not follow the http:// protocol. You may think you have access to all sites using Google or any other related search engines. However in reality, search engines like Google and Bing cannot access more than a tiny fraction of information available throughout the net. By comparison the ‘ surface web’ (sites which can be accessed by conventional search engines) represents only a small fraction of sites compared to Deep Web. Here are some Facts and statistics taken from BB.com
● l The Deep Web contains 7500 terabytes of information compared to the 19 terabytes of information in the surface web ● l The deep web contains nearly 550 billion documents compared to 1 billion of the surface web ● l There are more than 200,000 Deep Web sites present ● l Total quality content of Deep Web is 1000-2000 times greater than the of the surface web ● l There are currently no forms of censorship or legal enforcement within the Deep Web As you may have realized, no legal enforcement means that people that inhabit the recesses of Deep Web encompasses the entire moral spectrum. The bad being ‘drug dealers, arms dealers, hackers, kidnappers, gangs, perverts, assassins, terrorist networks’ etc. Many other kinds of people hang out and exchange information there such as ‘scientists, data miners, revolutionaries ’ etc. Even though enforcements agencies have no direct authority over the content of Deep Web , they often prowl the Web for clues of illegal activities or perhaps clues to the identity of those engaging in illicit trades and so on. All this sounds like a scene out from a badly made James Bonds movie where the Feds and the criminals are playing a game of constant cyber hide and seek across the internet. The only difference being that the Fed’s investigation usually amounts to nothing and the illegal activities continue.
Of course, there is also a wealth of interesting and good information to be found on Deep Web ranging from politics to science. For example, during the ‘Jasmine revolution’ the Deep Web was heavily utilized to organize and direct movements across the country which led to the toppling of the government when the surface web was heavily censored by the government. Keep in mind that ‘good and interesting information’ doesn’t always mean politically correct information. Sites exists in the Deep Web which promotes Nazism and Stalinist Communism and nearly everything in between. There are also sites which promotes and encourages practice of occultism and other religious extremities. As a result of this, people often post and chat anonymously to prevent any ethical or legal ramifications from occurring to them. The information contained is generally very broad and encompasses nearly all topics imaginable. For example the Wikileaks documents were readily available before someone decided to post them on the surface web. There are many sites which promotes anarchy which have links to instructions of assembly of bombs and other weaponry. Deep Web also serves as a communication channel from the oppressed parts of the world to the out-side world How to Access Deep Web – 2.0 There are multiple ways to access Deep Web , but the probably most common way is by using TOR. Tor is a basically a proxy program, but it also acts as a gateway to Deep Web . Just go to Google and search up
Tor to download it. I will not go into detail on how Tor works as that is irrelevant. Minor changes needs to made in order for Tor to work. The browser I’m using for guide is Firefox. Once you have downloaded all and installed all the required files, execute the program and this screen should pop up. Your Control panel should automatically connect to the Tor nodes. (The Tor program uses the Opera browser as a default, to use on Firefox, you have to download ‘TorButton’ add-on for Firefox) Once you have successfully connected, open up Firefox. In Firefox go toTools>Options>Go to Advance Tab>Network>In connections click onsettings. This should bring up the following screen. Make sure your settings are exactly as shown on the screen or else it would not worked.
After setting up your proxy setting click go the Tor button and toggle it ‘on’. The onion should now turn green. The Onion Domain + Starting point for Deep Web – 3.0 The Onion sites start with www but do not end on .com/.net/.org or anther other conventional endings. Onion sites end with .onion. Onion domains are not like domains on the surface web (eg. Yahoo.com) but rather are (kpvz7ki2v5agwt35.onion). The nonsensical names are used for encryption and anonymity. The Deep Web is a vast place and it is difficult to know where to start. A good starting place is the ‘Hidden Wiki’. It Contains links to most kinds of sites including illegal ones. The address is: kpvz7ki2v5agwt35.onion/wiki/index.php/Main_Page. If you want more sites, just search up ‘onion sites pastebin’ on Google. You have to have your Tor Button toggled on for the onion sites to work. If you try to access onion sites without Tor toggled on, you would just get a ‘page not found error’ Disclaimer – 4.0 The Deep Web is a dangerous place if you browse around carelessly. The Deep Web houses people who are involved in human trafficking, child pornography rings, and all kinds of crimes imaginable. Don’t click on a links which looks suspicious , for viewing things like necrophilia and
child pornography could potentially ruin your day. Downloading files is not recommended as the Tor nodes are slow + possibility of virus and Trojans. Basically just use common sense Author Notes – 5.0 This is the release edition – 1.0 Revisions and improvements will be made. Witten by SukHoi7, People from STC will know who I am.
