Tested through the SerialReaction Time (SRT) task,an experimental method. The Serial Reaction Time (SRT) Task Understanding the SRT Task In the SRT task,participants respond tostimuli presented asasterisks on a screen. Responses are spatiallycorrelated with the stimuli,often through keystrokes. Over time, participantsunconsciously form associations among sequence elements, aprocess known as chunking. This leads to the learningof the structural propertiesof the stimulus-responsesequence. Evidence of implicitlearning is observed inshorter SRTs, indicating faster execution of theentire action sequence. Testing Implicit Learning: TransferPhase Assessing Implicit Learning Implicit learning is demonstrated by the abilityto perform sequencesmore quickly. However, replacing thelearned sequence with anew one in a transferphase results in increasedSRT times. This reflects the truenature of implicit learning,where the entire actionsequence is learned, notjust stimulus-response couplings.
